Tribal people rendered great sacrifices for country: President

President Dr Arif Alvi has directed to complete the merger process of tribal areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the earliest for the benefit of tribal people.
Addressing a meeting in Peshawar on Friday, he said tribal people have rendered great sacrifices for the country.
The President said tribal areas have been given exemption from taxes for five years and investors should take full benefit of it.
Earlier, the President was briefed about introduction of reforms in tribal areas.
He was informed that election for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly from tribal districts will be held in May next year.
Delimitation for this purpose is in progress and will be completed by the end of next month.
The President was told that a committee of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet has been constituted for restructuring administrative setup for tribal districts. It will submit its report within fifteen days.
Dr Arif Alvi was also briefed about Bus Rapid Transit project Peshawar. He was told this project will be completed in April next year.
The President lauded the BRT project and hoped it will provide better transport facilities to the people. He directed for early completion of BRT project.
Addressing a medical conference arranged by Pakistan Medical Association in Peshawar, President Dr. Arif Alvi asked doctors to serve the ailing humanity with religious and national spirit.
He said our society is faced with a number of health-related issues. The President asked electronic media to allocate at least ten percent of their time to public service messages. Arif Alvi said we can overcome diseases through proper treatment and precautionary measures.
Meanwhile, President Dr. Arif Alvi and Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman, at their meeting in Peshawar on Friday, discussed law and order situation and development projects in the province.
The governor informed the president that the provincial government is taking various steps for the welfare of the people especially those belonging to tribal districts.
