LAHORE: MBBS-BDS admissions case was heard in the Lahore High Court.
The Lahore High Court on Wednesday restrained the University of Health Sciences (UHS) from displaying open-merit list of admissions to MBBS/BDS till Dec 2.
The court is hearing multiple petitions against the admission regulations’ policy of 2016 promulgated by the federal government.
Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza also restrained the private medical and dental colleges from carrying out further admissions and directed them to submit record of the admissions made earlier.
The judge further issued notice to the attorney general of Pakistan for assistance and sought para-wise comments from the provincial government on the petitions.
During Wednesday’s hearing, the court asked the counsel for the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council about any justification behind retrospective enforcement of new admission policy as the private colleges had already completed admission process for the session 2016-17.
