676,000 voters will vote for first ever Mayor of capital Islamabad through 50 union councils election

ISLAMABAD: The election campaign for Local Bodies Election in Islamabad has ended and election will be held tomorrow in Islamabad. All arrangements have been completed for first ever local body election in Islamabad. As per details, 676, 000 voters will use their right of vote. Polling will start from 7 am and end on 5 pm. Real ID card are necessary for casting the vote. 4 million ballot papers and other material have been handed over to the Returning Officers. All the material including ballot box and voters list etc will be given to Presiding officers under the surveillance of Army. Powers of Magistrate I will also be given to presiding officers. 640 polling stations have been established for 50 Union Councils. Foolproof security arrangements have been made by the government. 2,396 candidates will contest for 550 seats in the local body election in Islamabad. 255 candidates will be contesting for chairman while 1,210 will be battling for General seats. 102 candidates will contest for minority seats. 351 females candidates will contest for women seats.
