LAHORE - A petition has been filed against Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah over hurting religious sentiments.
The petitioner—in his petition—alleged that Rana Sanaullah has hurt sentiments of Muslims by terming Nawaz Sharif’s reception as biggest and more sacred act than Hajj [annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca]. The petitioner further accused Sanaullah of sacrilege.
The petition seeks registration of case against the PML-N’s stalwart and initiation of legal action against him.
Sanaullah’s faced severe backlash over his statement in which he stated that attending PML-N’s supremo Nawaz Sharif’s reception [on July 13] is an act bigger and sacred than Hajj. People from all walks of life has condemned the statement and demanded an apology from Rana Sanaullah.
