Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain says it is the first time that across the board accountability has been started by the PTI government and the corrupt elements are being punished.
Talking to a private news channel, he said corruption free Pakistan was the narrative of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and people had given mandate to the party for this purpose.
Fawad Chaudhry said the National Accountability Bureau is working independently and there is no government pressure on it.
He said the government has no personal vendetta with Asif Ali Zardari or Muhammad Nawaz Sharif but both of them are involved in looting public money and being punished for the same.
The minister said plea bargaining could be an option for both the leaders to get relief under the NAB law of plea bargain.
About oil prices, he said these are linked with international market but the government is giving seventy billion rupees subsidy on it to provide relief to the people.
