Indian Congress leader launches sarcastic attack on PM Modi on April's fool day

NEW DELHI - The Indian Opposition Congress today launched a sarcastic attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), celebrating April's Fools Day as 'Jumla Divas'.

The Congress took to Twitter to attack the BJP with a series of pictures and a spoof news video, calling the promises made by the party in power 'jumlas'.

Mocking the promise made by Narendra Modi during his campaign before the 2014 Lok Sabha polls when he said he would bring back black money located in foreign countries, the video shared on the Congress's timeline on Twitter says that Rs 15 lakh has been deposited in the account of every Indian citizen.

Running #HappyJumlaDivas, the Congress tweeted, "An amount of INR 15,00,000.00 has been CREDITED to your A/C on 01/04/2018 towards Acche Din. Ref No. link. Total Avail.bal INR 0.00."

The video also says that India has become corruption-free post demonetisation, following which, it lauds Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi for 'swiping clean' the Punjab National Bank as part of the Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan.

"(Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi) have been awarded a foreign trip (for their 'feat')," the video says.
