KPK Police arrests people for refusing polio drops to children

PESHAWAR: (APP) District administration arrested three persons for refusing administering of polio drops to children and harassment of the polio workers in a suburban area of the city.

The arrested alleged accused Takhtabad have been identified as Inayatullah, Misal Khan and Awal Khan were the resident of Takhtabad.

A seven-day long anti-polio immunization campaign is continued since August 29. During the campaign a total of 833,253 children will be administered polio drops and for this purpose 2200 polio workers are carrying a door to door campaign.

The Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, Riaz Khan Mehsud has appealed the people for extending full cooperation to teams in administering polio drops to their children to play their due role in making Peshawar a polio free city. He was of the opinion that no campaign could succeeded sans the cooperation of the people.

In this connection, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shahid Mahmood along with polio teams carried door to door campaign and administered polio drops to children and monitored the activities of polioteams.
