Indian Army martyrs four Kashmiris, thousands defy funeral ban

SRINAGAR: Indian troops, in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred two more youth in Dialgam area of Islamabad district in the Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK), raising the death toll to four on Saturday.

The troops killed the youth Bashir Ahmed Wani alias Bashir Lashkari and Azad Malik during a violent cordon and search operation. The troops have also blasted a residential house in the area.

Earlier, a woman Tahira Begum, and a youth, Shadab Ahmed, were killed and dozens others injured after the troops fired bullets, pellets and teargas shells on the demonstrators who were protesting against the operation.

Eyewitness told media that Tahira and Shahab were hit by bullets. The operation continued till reports last came in. Massive clashes between protesters and Indian forces personnel were going on in the area.

Meanwhile, the puppet authorities snapped the mobile internet services in the district and imposed curfew-like-restrictions in Dialgam. The authorities also announced closure of educational institutions in the district to prevent students from staging anti-India demonstrations.

On the other hand, thousands of people started marching towards Sof Shali village in Kokernag area of the district as the news about the killing of Bashir Ahmed Wani spread. Sof Shali is the native village of the martyred Bashir Wani.
