NEW YORK – Pakistan PM Imran Khan rejects meeting with Indian PM NarendraModi on sidelines of UNGA session.

What is the point of talking now when the Indian leadership is not serious?He unequivocally said unless India lifts the curfew in Occupied Kashmir andrestores article 370, there can be no chance of talks with India.

During the Press Conference in New York, On a question regarding possiblemeeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New York to resolve thesituation in Kashmir, Imran Khan said Pakistan tried everything to resolveissues with India before 5th of August action. But he regretted that therewas no response from the Indian side.

On another question, he said UN Security Council has to take action aspeople of Kashmir are suffering because its relevant resolutions were notimplemented. It should act to save eight million people from oppression andinhuman treatment at the hands of Indian security forces.

The Security Council should also intervene as there is a risk of faceoffbetween two nuclear armed countries. He said no sane mind can think of anuclear war. Imran Khan warned that if conflict starts between two nucleararmed nations, it could get out of control and reach to unintendedconsequences.

The Prime Minister agreed with a questioner that Taliban were willing tomeet with the US but not the representatives of Afghan government. He saidour government is urging Taliban to hold talks with the Afghan government.

The Prime Minister regretted that talks were later called off by the US ona simple tweet. He emphasized that there was no military solution to Afghancrisis and only dialogue can lead to peace.

The Prime Minister expressed disappointment on the role of internationalcommunity for not providing relief to eight million people under siege.

He said we will keep mounting the pressure through various means. ImranKhan said in my address at the UN General Assembly, I will inform the worldcommunity that nine hundred thousand Indian troops are there to intimidate,control and repress the Muslim population.

It could have far reaching consequences as one point three billion Muslimsare watching the situation with concern. It could lead to moreradicalization of Muslim youth and violence.
