ISLAMABAD – Pakistan strongly hits out at the Israeli Prime MinisterBenjamin Netanyahu over his latest announcement.
Pakistani delegation was speaking at the special moot of Foreign Ministersof the OIC at Jeddah.
Pakistani Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training ShafqatMehmood said that the unilateral and irresponsible announcement by theIsraeli Prime Minister is a dangerous development to perpetuate occupationand further disenfranchise Palestinians.
In his statement, he said the announcement is in violation of the UNSecurity Council resolutions and principles of International law.
Shafqat Mehmood led Pakistan delegation in the extraordinary meeting of theOIC Council of Foreign Ministers held in Jeddah on Sunday.
The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the announcement by the IsraeliPrime Minister of his intention to annex territories in the occupied WestBank in the event of winning Israeli Elections.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s full solidarity with the Palestinian cause andreiterated Pakistan’s principled position that the establishment of aviable, independent and contiguous State of Palestine, on the basis ofinternationally agreed parameters.
