ISLAMABAD – Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) took an initiativelaunching ten BS (Four-year) programs, keeping in view the newly emergingacademic trends and the market-based students’ needs.
The decision to this effect was taken by the Vice-Chancellor Professor DrZia-Ul-Qayyum on the recommendations of the University’s Academic Council.
The ten programs are Library and Information Sciences, Gender and WomenStudies, Islamic Studies, Arabic, Mass Communication, Urdu, English,Pakistan Studies, Accounting and Finance and Instructional Design andTechnology.
According to Director Admissions, October 15 is the last date for receivingthe applications for admissionáin these programs, which have been offeredfor the whole country. Eight programs have been introduced in line with theOpen Distance Learning system, while the two programs-Accounting andFinance and Instructional Design and Technology are on basis of blended andE-Learning mode.
Recently, the first time in the history of AIOU, a comprehensive annualacademic calendar has been put in place that facilitates the overalllearning system, includingátimely holding of admissions, examinationandábooks mailing process.
