1.9 billion being spent on development of Karachi

*KARACHI – **$1.9 billion is being spent on development of Karachi by Sindhgovernment and the World Bank, it has been revealed.*

*Sindh Minister for Information Saeed Ghani on Sunday said that theprovincial government in collaboration with the World Bank spending $1.9billion for the development works in Karachi.*

Saeed Ghani, while criticizing Prime Minister Imran Khan over constitutinga committee for Karachi, Saeed Ghani said that the Sindh government wasspending Rs22 billion over provision of quality health facilities in themetropolis.

He said that they would replace water and sewerage lines in the city andlaunching two new projects of transportation in Karachi.

On the occasion, the minister demanded of the Centre to release Rs162bn forKarachi and approve 1200 cusec water for the city. Saeed Ghani said thataction should be taken against federal Minister for Maritime Affairs AliZaid for spreading garbage and pollution in Karachi.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Imran Khan had directed concernedauthorities to continue ‘Clean Karachi’ campaign besides assuring maximumsupport by the federal government.
