ISLAMABAD -Pakistan tourism sector attracts huge investment worth millionsof dollars from United States.
A group of US-based investors is currently visiting Pakistan to explorepotential investment opportunities in different sectors.
The group called upon Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs andGilgit-Baltistan Ali Amin Gandapur today. During the meeting, theyannounced that they intend to invest $100 million in the tourism sector ofPakistan.
Pakistan is blessed with scenic landscapes complemented by four kinds ofweather, enough to attract a large number of tourists. However, lack ofinfrastructure and world-class facilities in and around touristdestinations impedes Pakistan’s growth in the tourism sector.
The investment will help build infrastructure, establish high-class tourismcenters in Gilgit-Baltistan and other parts of the country.
The incumbent government has undertaken several initiatives to boosttourism in the country. In this regard, the government introduced an E-visapolicy link for 175 countries and visa onarrival policy for 50 more. The condition on foreign tourists to obtain ano-objection certificate (NOC) before visiting a tourist destination hasbeen removed as well.
Besides, Pakistan has received plenty of endorsement from foreign travelenthusiasts encouraging more and more people to visit Pakistan. Portugaldeclared Pakistan a safe tourist destinationlinkforits citizens. Forbes included Pakistan in its “10 coolest places to go in2019link”list.
