Sex with consent is not Rape, rules Supreme Court of Pakistan

*ISLAMABAD: ‘Sex with consent’ is not Rape, rules Supreme Court ofPakistan. *The Supreme Court on Friday rejected a plea against dismissalof bail of a rape suspect on on the said rule.

Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa remarked that the victim stayed in aphysical relationship with the suspect, Junaid Afzal, for a year, butregistered case against him when he refused to marry her.

Afzal had promised to marry Ghazala Naureen. They both remained inrelationship for a year. When Naureen told Afzal to marry her, he refusedon which she filed a rape case against him.

The case was being presided over by three-member bench of Supreme Court(SC) headed by Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa.

During the hearing, the counsel for petitioner said that his client,Ghazala Noureen, was raped for over period of a year by Afzal on thepretext that he would marry her.
