NEW DELHI – Indian Agencies Red faced as Kashmiris show their love forfreedom and Pakistan.

Apple cultivation is one of the mainstays of Kashmir’s economy with itslargest apple market. The apple cultivators in Kashmir scribbled pro-Pakistani messages on the fruits.

The apple boxes were received in Jammu’s Kathua District, carrying applesscrawled with slogans like, “We want freedom”, “Long- live Pakistan” and “Iluv Burhan”.

Messages hailing Kashmiri militants Buharn Wani, Zakir Musa, and pro-Pakistanilinksloganslike, “Imran Khan meri jaan (Imran Khan my love) were found written on theapples.

“The boxes were from Kashmir and the messages were written in English andUrdu,” Kathua wholesale market head Rohit Gupta said.

A police investigation is underway.

Kashmir has been under communication lockdown as part of preventivesecurity measures since 5 August, when the Indian parliament scrapped thestate’s seven-decade-old special statuslink.
