NEW DELHI – India and Pakistan to ink key agreement on the KartarpurCorridor in a ceremony amid border tensions in the coming days.
India has confirmed receiving the Kartarpur Corridor proposal by Pakistaniside. The proposal was sent on Friday by the Pakistani government to theIndian High Commission.
The draft agreement mentioned that the exchange of lists of yatris will bedone at least 10 days prior to them crossing over to Pakistan through thecorridor with Islamabad and then the vetting of names will be done at leastfour days prior to these yatris coming to Pakistan through the corridor.
In case of the agreement of the draft, both sides are expected to sign at aceremony which could take place at the Wagah–Attari border or at the ZeroPoint of Dera Baba Nanak.
Pakistan and India have held three rounds of formal talks on the Kartarpurcorridor’s draft agreement while at least four times technical levelexperts have met to discuss the nitty-gritty of the project.
