ISLAMABAD –PM Imran Khan to leave for Saudi Arabia on reconciliationmission, high profile meetings revealed with Saudi King and the CrownPrince.
Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Saudi Arabia on Wednesday (tomorrow)on a mission to act as a “facilitator” between Tehran and Riyadh and try todefuse rising tensions in the Gulf.
The prime minister will hold key meetings with Saudi leadership includingKing Salman and Prince Mohammad Bin Salman to devise solutions fordiffusing tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
Earlier, addressing a joint news conference along with Iranian PresidentHassan Rouhani after their meeting in Tehran today, Imran Khan said intoday’s meeting with President Hassan Rouhani, we also discussed the issuesbetween Iran and Saudi Arabia.
The premier said Saudi Arabia is one of the closest friends of Pakistan andRiyadh has always helped us in all times of need. He said he stronglybelieves that any issue could be resolved through dialogue and talks. Hesaid any new conflict in the region could have far reaching implicationsand sufferings of people.
