LAHORE – Ten new Universities to be opened across Punjab province in oneyear, Media Report has revealed.Chief Minister of Punjab, Usman Buzdar hassaid that six general and four technical universities will be establishedin Punjab in the span of one year.
While addressing a ceremony in Lahore, he said that for the first time inthe history of province, 20,000 teachers were transferred on the basis ofmerit.
He added that they have declared 2019 as a year of teachers.
Speaking on provision of education in Punjab, the chief minister said thataround 2500 new schools will be constructed in Punjab.

“The schools will have proper computer and science labs along withlibraries. Besides that, 25 thousand new classrooms will be established in143 districts. Around 10,800 schools in Southern Punjab will be shifted tosolar system,” Buzdar said.
The chief minister added that around 2.5 lacs kids are unable to go toschools in Lahore. “We have planned to establish 100 afternoon and 10mobile schools in the city.”
