ISLAMABAD – China has expressed satisfaction on the quality and timelycompletion of China Pakistan Economic Corridor projects includingMultan-Sukkur (M-5) and Thakot-Havelian motorways.
This was expressed by Chinese delegation led by Chief Planner HoD China,Wang Zhiqing during the 7th meeting of CPEC Joint Working Group onTransport Infrastructure held in Islamabad. Other delegates included fromChinese Ministries of Transport and Railway and Exim Bank China.
The meeting also lauded the completion of Multan-Sukkur Motorway (M-5) andThakot-Havelian project.
It was decided that both the projects would be inaugurated in a befittingmanner as both the projects possess great significance from economic pointof view for Pakistan.
The meeting also agreed to undertake practical steps for start of DIKhan-Zhob project.
China also assured to extend all cooperation to Pakistan includingtechnical consultation and exchange of information and technology to makeHighway and Research Centre more active.
The meeting agreed for earlier start of study of CPEC traffic. This wouldextend the range of research and training in roads sector. The meeting alsoreviewed the security measures for the CPEC projects.
