ISLAMABAD – Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed to be removed from the captaincy as aresolution has been moved against him.
A resolution to remove the struggling Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed hasbeen proposed in the Punjab Assembly on Thursday after the Men in Green’srecent whitewash in the three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) seriesagainst Sri Lanka at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The resolution was filed by Muslim League (N) member Malik Zaheer Iqbal.The resolution stated that the recent defeat at the hands of theeighth-ranked Sri Lanka side was a matter of grave anger and sadness forthe people of Pakistan.
“This house would like to convey its regret and anger at the recentwhitewash of the Pakistan cricket team at the hands of Sri Lanka. Thenumber-one ranked T20 team has lost against the number-eight ranked T20side.
The young players of the Sri Lankan team managed to win all matches withease. The people of Pakistan are both sad and angry by this defeat,” theresolution stated.
