ISLAMABAD – China says Prime Minister Imran Khan’s recent visit to Beijingwould inject a new impetus into bilateral partnership between the twoall-weather friends.
Responding to a question during his regular briefing in Beijing today(Wednesday), Chinese Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson Geng Shuang said therewere a lot of fruitful outcomes from Imran Khan’s visit and this will be anew impetus into our bilateral partnership.
The spokesperson said China paid highly importance to the meetings betweenPrime Minister Imran Khan and China’s top leadership.
He said President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang and Chairman, NationalPeople’s Congress, Li Zhanshu met and talked with Prime Minister Imran Khanand exchanged views on bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest.
Geng Shuang remarked that both sides believed that a close exchange ofhigh-level officials and closer strategic coordination and communication isvery important.
He said the two countries have agreed to enhance cooperation in the UnitedNations, Shanghai Cooperation Organization and other multilateralmechanisms to uphold regional peace and stability.
