ANKARA – Government of Turkey has a gift for people of Pakistan as it hasannounced to establish a Centre of Excellence in Tourism and HospitalityManagement in Islamabad.
The project was given final shape during a meeting between EducationMinister Shafqat Mahmood and Dr. Serdar Çam, Deputy Minister for Culture &Tourism of Turkey in Ankara on Wednesday, according to the statement.
During their meeting, both the ministers explored further opportunities forcollaboration in education, technical training, culture and tourism sector.
Shafqat Mahmood briefed the Turkish minister about potential of tourismsector of Pakistan.
He said that domestic tourism in Pakistan reached its peak during currentyear but stressed on the need for more efforts to attract more foreigntourists.
He also conveyed his gratitude to the people and leadership of Turkey forstanding by Pakistan on issues of its core national interest, particularlyKashmir issue.
He also assured Pakistan’s support on issues that concerns Turkey.
