PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government unveils plan for 1000 Micro HydelPower Plants in the province
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has signed an agreement with a private groupof industries to provide them cheap electricity.
Under the agreement, the provincial government will provide 18MWelectricity from Pehur Hydro Power Project to these industries on tenrupees per unit rate.
It will generate a revenue of more than three hundred million rupeesannually.
Speaking on this occasion, Chief Minister Mahmood Khan said the governmentis planning to construct one thousand micro hydro-power projects indifferent areas of the province to overcome shortage of electricity.
He said Chashma Right Bank Canal is being constructed to developagriculture in Southern districts of the province.
Mahmood Khan said work on Rashakai Economic Zone will be started next month.
