ISLAMABAD – Afghan President Ghani and CEO Abdullah Abdullah clash witheach other over the sacking of Foreign Ministry spokesman.
The Chief Executive of the National Unity Government Abdullah Abdullahrejected President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani’s order regarding the dismissal ofthe Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesperson.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement late on Sunday, carryinga statement by the Chief Executive which states that Mr. SibghatullahAhmadi, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressedthe position of the Foreign Ministry in support of peace process, KhaamaPress has reported.
Linking the ‘appointments and dismissals’ in top government positions toelections, Abdullah further added in his statement that Mr. Ahmadi wouldcontinue to his work until the elections process concludes and results arefinalized.
Presidential spokesperson Sedqi Sediqqi had earlier announced that“President Ghani has appointed Mr. Mirwais Nab as Deputy Minister forEconomic Cooperation Ministry of Foreign Affairs and caretaker of theoffice of Spokesperson of the ministry. The former MOFA acting Spokespersonhas been fired due to his latest irresponsible comments.”
