LAHORE – Lahore High Court acquits three accused in murder case of NABChairman parents murder case.
As per media report, Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday acquitted threeaccused in the murder case of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) ChairmanJustice (rtd) Javed Iqbal’s parents over lack of sufficient evidence.
It is pertinent to mention here that the accused had been sentenced todeath by a sessions court in the murder case of Javed Iqbal’s parents andthe brother of NAB Chairman Naveed Iqbal was also included in the accused.
In 2011, Javed’s parents were found murdered in their house, which wasguarded round the clock. Police had said that Naveed Iqbal had killed thecouple over a money dispute. Officials further said that Naveed wasassisted by Abbas Shakir and Ameen Ali.
All three men were sentenced to death and fined Rs550,000 each by asessions court in 2016 in the murder case of then Supreme Court judgeJaved’s parents.
