KABUL- Afghan President Ashraf Ghani sacks Foreign Ministry spokespersonover remarks on Pakistan Taliban meeting in Islamabad, Afghan Media hadreported.
As per media report, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has fired foreignministry’s spokesman, Sibghatullah Ahmadi, over his comments on Pakistan’stalks with the Taliban.
A 12-member Taliban delegation led by its deputy leader Mullah Abdul GhaniBaradar met with Pakistan’s foreign minister and other officials inIslamabad this week, with both sides agreeing on need to resumption ofpeace process, 1TV Afghanistan has reported.
President Ghani’s spokesman, Sediq Sediqi, criticized the meeting saying itcouldn’t help peace process.
“Hosting a group which continues to commit violence goes against all theprinciples of relations between countries,” Sediqi said.
Ahmadi, however, welcomed the meeting.
“We all witness the increasing regional and global efforts for resumptionof Afghanistan’s Peace Process,” Ahmadi said on Twitter.
