ISLAMABAD – Safar Moon sighting in Pakistan was wrong as it was against theofficial moon sighting website of the Pakistan government, Minister forScience and Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday has revealed.
Chaudhry sought an apology from the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee for making amistake in this regard.
Minister said that those having wisdom can understand but a certain sectionof the society could not be convinced.
Recently, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced that the moon for the monthof Safar was not sighted on Sunday (September 29), meaning the first ofSafar would be Tuesday (October 1).
However, according to the pakmoonsighting.pk link therewas ample evidence of moonsighting on the day.
The minister said pictures in this regard have been released on theinternet, which contradict the announcement made by the religious body.
