NAB Chief reacts over complaints made by business community in front of Army Chief against bureau

ISLAMABAD – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd)Javed Iqbal reacts over complaints made by business community in front ofArmy Chief against bureau.

NAB Chief has announced that the bureau will not interfere in the mattersof tax and bank default from today. Addressing a press conference onSunday, he said that all cases pertaining to tax and bank default would behanded over to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and respective banks.

The NAB chairman said that some reservations of traders before Chief ofArmy Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa were totally baseless. “The NAB hasneither a role in the dollar price, stock exchange and economy nor in thepolicy-making process,” he said.

He said that the NAB would not phone any trader. “There is no doubt economyis the backbone of the country. The country will become strong if it getsstronger. Under the present circumstances, the NAB cannot take a stepdamaging economy,” he said.

Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal said that the NAB had made several attempts toactivate the business community. “It is private sector’s job to provideemployment. NAB has never wished Saudi-model powers,” he said.

He said that the NAB deals with the white collar crime, which is a verycomplex matter. “No country across the world set a timeframe for the whitecollar crimes,” he said.
