NEW DELHI -In a worry for Pakistan Air Force, Indian Air Force goes forlargest ever Fighter Jets deal in history worth billions and billions ofdollar
Indian Air Force Chief Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria has said that there areno separate plans to acquire another 36 Rafale jets in a separate bid.
India is planning to acquire 114 fighter jets to make up for its depletingstrength of fighter aircraft. This could be the single largest ever fighterjet deal in history worth billions and billions of dollars.
Earlier Indian Air Force got 36 Rafale fighter jets deal worth near $9billion dollars and the new deal if made by Rafale with similar cost couldescalate to over $30 billions.
“There are no plans to acquire 36 more Rafale jets separately. The RFI for114 aircraft has already been received. We have started the process forAON,” he said.
The initials of the air chief RB-01 have been imprinted on the tail fin ofthe first Rafale jet that India is set to receive in honour of the key rolethat he played in the negotiations on behalf of India.
The IAF will be phasing out its ageing fleet of MiG 21s later this year.
“The non-Bison versions of the MiG 21 aircraft will be phased out betweenDecember and March. The Bison fleet will be phased put as per theirtechnical life,” he said.
