*ISLAMABAD – **US top envoy Zalmay Khalilzad held important meeting withTaliban in US Embassy Islamabad, Media Report has revealed citing sources.*
*A Taliban delegation met US special representative for Afghanistan ZalmayKhalilzad on Thursday, two sources told Reuters, the first known contactbetween the two sides since US President Donald Trump called off talks lastmonth.*
Trump halted the talks, which aimed at a plan to withdraw US troops fromAfghanistan in exchange for Taliban security guarantees, following thedeath of a US soldier and 11 others in a bomb attack in Kabul.
According to the report, the sources claimed that the meeting held at USEmbassy located in Diplomatic Enclave of Islamabad which ran more than anhour on Thursday.
