FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi holds meeting of the Kashmir Cell in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD – Fourth meeting of ‘Kashmir Cell’ established on the specialdirective of Prime Minister Imran Khan was held in Islamabad. ForeignMinister Shah Mahmood Qureshi chaired the meeting.

It was attended by Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider, FederalMinister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, Chairman ParliamentaryCommittee on Kashmir Syed Fakhar Imam and senior civil and militaryofficials.

The Foreign Minister briefed the participants on the recent US visit ofPrime Minister Imran Khan and meetings held with various heads of state andinternational human rights organizations, on the sidelines of 74th Sessionof UN General Assembly in New York.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan had more than seventy meetings andcontacts which include talks with various heads of state, internationalhuman rights organizations and international media.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said meetings with civil society, AmnestyInternational and Human Rights Watch and with international media provedfruitful in which Prime Minister exposed the fake narrative of India.

He said Prime Minister presented the case of innocent Kashmiris in his UNGeneral Assembly address which is unprecedented.

Qureshi said voices are being heard across the world now against the brutaltreatment of Kashmiris by India.

He said joint declaration of the OIC Contact Group about Occupied Jammu andKashmir situation on the sidelines of 74th Session of UN General Assemblyis a good omen. He said Pakistan will continue political, diplomatic andmoral support to Kashmiris in their just struggle.

Participants of the meeting congratulated Foreign Minister Shah MahmoodQureshi on successful visit to the US.
