Indian Army Chief threatens to cross LoC and International borders with Pakistan

NEW DELHI – Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat threatens to cross Lineof Control and the International borders along with Pakistan to counterterrorists threat, Indian media had revealed.

Army Chief General Bipin Rawat has said the Indian Army will cross borderif needed. Rawat has said that the surgical strikes have sent across amessage that the Line of Control (LoC) will be “sacrosanct” so long asPakistan does not vitiate the atmosphere.

Speaking with the Times of India in an interview, General Rawat said itwould no longer be “hide and seek” and if India had to cross the border, itwould do so through air, ground route or both, referring to the surgicalstrikes.

“The strikes have delivered the message that the Line of Control (LoC) willremain sacrosanct as long as the other side remains quiet and does notvitiate the atmosphere. Pakistan controls the terrorists, who act as itsproxies. It’s no longer going to hide and seek. If we have to go across, wewill, through the air or the ground route or both,” Rawat told TOI in aninterview.

The Army chief also accused Pakistan of supporting terrorism, despite Indiagiving them evidence required.
