India gets yet another snub from United States Congress over Occupied Kashmir lockdown

WASHINGTON -India gets yet another snub from United States Congress Womanover Occupied Kashmir lockdown.

US Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has called for an endto the torture and violence in Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK).

In a tweet, the US Congresswoman has said that she supports democracy,equality and human rights for all. She further said that she stands for thebasic human dignity of Kashmiris. “Reports of violence and torture areextremely concerning, and the blockade from communication and life-savingmedical care must end.

It has been 58 days since the Indian government imposed a lock down in IoKand also suspended communication services in the region. This decision byIndia was taken after it abrogated Article 370 from its constitution andstripped of the special status given to the valley.

The Indian forces have also made over 4000 arrests and incarcerated them inIndia as the capacity in IoK was filled.
