India calls for boycott of Malaysia over Occupied Kashmir conflict favouring Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – Indian media and nationalists have called for boycott ofMalaysia over Occupied Kashmir conflict favouring Pakistan at the UNGeneral Assembly.

Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad’s speech at United NationsGeneral Assembly (UNGA) called Jammu and Kashmir “invaded and occupied”territory.

Malaysian PM statement has led to social media outrage, with people callingfor the boycott of trade and tourism with Malaysia.

Echoing Turkey and China, Malaysia accused India of invading and occupyingJammu and Kashmir and asked India and Pakistani to “resolve the problem bypeaceful means”. “Now, despite the UN resolution on Jammu and Kashmir, thecountry has been invaded and occupied.”

“There may be reasons for this action but it is still wrong. The problemmust be solved by peaceful means. India should work with Pakistan toresolve this problem. Ignoring the UN would lead to other forms ofdisregard for the UN and the Rule of Law,” said the Malaysian primeminister.

Mohamad also tweeted that ignoring the UN is tantamount to disregard for the organisation and the rule of lawlink.
