ISLAMABAD – Senior Indian Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi has calledIndian PM Modi to send an all party delgation headed by former PM ManmohanSingh to Pakistan.
She suggested that an all-party delegation constituted by Prime MinisterNarendra Modi with Manmohan Singh as the head could be sent for theinaugural ceremony of the Kartarpur Corridor after Pakistan decided toinvite the former PM for the event, India TV has reported.
Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Monday that hiscountry has decided to invite Singh to attend the inaugural ceremony of theKartarpur Corridor.
Reacting to this, Singhvi said in a tweet: “Pakistan’s invite to DrManmohan Singh, I suggest to the government of India, Prime Minister andHome Minister: send all-party delegation to Pakistan. Whole country to showsolidarity qua Pakistan.”
“PM to personally constitute such delegation of selected individuals. Evenmore significant than P V Narsimha Rao nomination of (Atal Bihari) Vajpayeeto head UN delgation,” he said.
“I meant PM should request Dr Manmohan Singh to head this multi individualdelegation to Pakistan,” Singhvi, a Congress spokesperson, said in anothertweet.
