ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s Babar Azam breaks 32 year old Pakistani record.
Top-order batsman Babar Azam has broken the 32-year old Pakistani record ofcompleting 1000 runs by playing the lowest innings in a calendar year.——————————
24-year-old Babar Azam completed 1000 ODI runs in his 19th innings duringthe second ODI against Sri Lanka at the National Stadium, Karachi and brokethe 32-year-old record of legendary batsman Javed Miandad. Javed Miandadcompleted 1000 runs in his 21st innings in 1987.
Former captain Mohammad Yousuf, who was third on the list, completed 1000runs in the 23rd innings in 2002; Misbah-ul-Haq, the current head coach andchief selector of the national team, completed a thousand runs in 2013 byplaying 23 innings.
Former national team opener Saeed Anwar made this honor by playing 25innings in 1996, former captain Aamir Sohail completed 1000 runs by playing27 innings in 1994.
