ISLAMABAD – For the first time in history, First ever automated digitaltelemetry system installed on five rivers in Pakistan.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has installed first ever automateddigital telemetry system on five rivers and two nullahs of the province ata cost of six-hundred million rupees.
According to Relief department, the telemetry stations have been installedat Chakdara and Khwazakhela bridges on river Swat, Jabalot bridge on riverPanjkora, Adezai bridge on river Kabul and Munda head works Shabqadar.
Besides, two stations have been installed at Kalpani nullah in Mardan andBudhni nullah in Peshawar.
The control stations have been linked with all District Administrationdepartments, PDMA control room and other concerned departments.
The telemetry system will record water flow in rivers and nullahs and senddata to all concerned departments so that they may take necessary steps inflood like situation.
