Pakistan takes a step forward in Artifical Intelligence with strong support from China

ISLAMABAD – Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Huawei CertifiedInformation and Communication Technologies (ICT) have decided to furtherstrengthen their cooperative partnership in promoting artificialintelligence and computing.

The two sides organised here the first ‘Train the Trainers’ training forICT on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The training was managed by Huaweijointly with HEC.

The eight-day training, conducted by Huawei AI Experts from China, wasattended by trainers from 11 universities across Pakistan.

According to a Gwadar Pro’s report, the training is a part of PakistanPresidential Initiative for Artificial Intelligence and Computing (PIAIC).The training aims at Artificial Intelligence talent development inPakistan.

The HCIA-AI training and certification will cultivate entrepreneurialtalent for the professionals of Artificial Intelligence and help them touse the AI framework in the industry for development and innovation.

Dr. Fateh Marri, Executive Director HEC, was chief guest in the closingceremony, which was also attended by Shahzad Rasheed, Chief TechnicalOfficer (CTO), Huawei Enterprise Business Group Pakistan and the delegatesfrom various universities.

Addressing the audience, Dr. Marri emphasized on the importance ofArtificial Intelligence in understanding modern tools in education sectorand its relevance for overall economic growth of any nation. —INP
