Pakistan makes key demand from the OIC over the Babri Mosque case verdict in India

*ISLAMABAD – *Pakistan has demanded from Organization of Islamic Council(OIC) to play a significant role on the issue of Babri Mosque case.

According to the Spokesperson of Foreign Office Dr. Mohammad Faisal, IndianSupreme Court’s decision regarding Babri Masjid is illegal and has demandedfrom OIC to play a significant role on the issue.

According to spokesperson, it is illegal to give occupation of disputedholy place to Hindus.

“The decision of the Indian Supreme Court is unacceptable. It is not fairto substitute a mosque on the basis of religious biases. The Indian SupremeCourt ruled on the basis of faith. Hindus killed around 2,000 Muslims whiledestructing the Babri Mosque,” he said.

Dr. Faisal also condemned the Indian Supreme Court’s decision to notsentence those who were involved in the heinous crime of destructing themosque in 1992.

On November 9, India’s Supreme Court awarded Hindus control of a disputedreligious site in the town of Ayodhya for the construction of a temple, ina verdict announced amid heightened security across the country.

The top court ordered that the Muslims will be given five acres of land atan alternative site in Ayodhya, in northern Uttar Pradesh state.

While reading out the verdict, Justice Gogoi said the decision was taken onthe basis of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).

Babri Masjid was razed in 1992 by hardline Hindus who believe the site isthe birthplace of Lord Ram.
