Indian PM Narendra Modi reacts over the controversial verdict of SC on the Ayodhya land case

NEW DELHI – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reacts over thecontroversial verdict of Indian Supreme Court over the Ayodhya land case.

The verdict is a huge victory for Hindu nationalists under Indian PrimeMinister Narendra Modi, who had promised to build the temple in 2014elections that brought him to power.

“The halls of justice have amicably concluded a matter going on fordecades.

Every side, every point of view was given adequate time and opportunity toexpress differing points of view,” said Modi following the ruling. “Thisverdict will further increase people’s faith in judicial processes.”

There is adequate material in ASI report to conclude the following: BabriMasjid not constructed on vacant land. There was a structure underlying thedisputed structure. The underlying structure was not an Islamic structure,”said the Supreme Court, according to *Scroll.in*.

“But the ASI report does not say if the structure was demolished for themosque. It has left unanswered this critical point: whether temple wasdemolished for mosque.”

“This court must accept faith and accept belief of worshippers,” India’sChief Justice Ranjan Gogoi’s was quoted as saying. “Court should preservebalance.”
