Pakistani former Skipper Mohammad Hafeez responds over media reports of Rs 17 crore assets concealment

ISLAMABAD – Pakistani former Skipper Mohammad Hafeez responds over mediareports of Rs 17 crore assets concealment.

Mohammad Hafeez on Thursday denied receiving a show cause notice from theFederal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) amid reports that the tax collection bodyis probing him for alleged concealment of assets.

“I am unaware of any notice from the FBR,” Hafeez told *Geo News*. “I haveno idea why such a news is being spread.”

Hafeez also appeared to deny any tax evasion or asset concealment, sayingthat “I file my tax returns every year without fail.” However, sourceswithin the FBR confirmed that a show cause notice has been issued toHafeez.

The federal body, as per sources privy to the matter, is auditing theveteran all-rounder’s income from the last five years.
