ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises are expected to have newhead coaches for the fifth edition of the tournament.
The news regarding Dean Jones, who was Islamabad United’s head coach, hasbeen confirmed. It is expected that Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans, andLahore Qalandars will also follow in Islamabad United’s footsteps.
Following the departure of Dean Jones, the owner of Islamabad United AliNaqvi said:
In preparation for the whole tournament, moving to Pakistan and the naturalprogression of different members of the team, we have been evolving ourplans and strategies over the past year.
Sources believe that Misbah-ul-Haq will take over the role of head coach atIslamabad United but the franchise said they would make the announcement ofthe new appointment later on.
Multan Sultans, who were coached by Johan Botha in 2019 and Tom Moody in2018, is in talks with former Zimbabwean cricketer and former England coachAndy Flower.
Karachi Kings are also unlikely to stick with Mickey Arthur, who wasremoved as Pakistan cricket team’s head coach a couple of months ago. Somesources claim that Dean Jones is interested in signing with Karachi Kings.
