NEW YORK – A UN General Assembly committee has approved a draft resolutionthat urges UN member states to abide by international rules of outer spaceuses and contribute to the prevention of an arms race in outer space.
According to a press release by committee, General Assembly urged UN memberstates that have not yet become parties to international treaties governingthe uses of outer space to ratify or accede to them and to incorporate theminto their national laws.
The committee will reconvene tomorrow to begin its general debate on thecomprehensive review of UN peacekeeping
