In a shocker, India formally includes Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan part of Indian Ladakh UT

*New Delhi:* In a shocker, India formally includes Azad Kashmir and GilgitBaltistan part of Indian Ladakh UT.

Pakistan Kashmir is part of the newly created Union Territory of Jammu andKashmir, while Gilgit-Baltistan is in the UT of Ladakh in the fresh mapslinkreleasedby the government on Saturday following the bifurcation.

In a notification, the Ministry of Home Affairs also released the new mapof India depicting the two UTs with ‘capital’ Muzaffarabad within thegeographical boundary of the country.

The move comes even as Pakistan and China have been rebelling againstIndia’s decision to bifurcate the former state into two Union territories,which was enforced on 31 October following the Presidential order, whichwas signed on 5 August.

The new map shows three districts — Muzaffarabad, Punch and Mirpur — whichare under Pakistan— as part of India’s geographic confines while the LadakhlinkUnionTerritory consists of two districts — Kargil and Leh — while the Jammu andKashmir Union Territory comprises 20 districts, The Hindu has reported.
