NEW DELHI – BJP Hindu extremist government in India to remove Muslim heroTip Sultan from syllabus books.
Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Wednesday said that the stategovernment is trying its to remove material related to Tipu Sultan frommiddle school history text books.
Speaking to TNM, Yediyurappa said, “I am against Tipu Sultan and I amagainst Tipu Jayanthi. Our government will not allow the celebration ofTipu Jayanthi. We are trying everything we can to remove Tipu Sultan fromschool textbooks.”

Yediyurappa’s statement comes two days after Karnataka Minister for Primaryand Secondary Education Suresh Kumar released a statement regarding theformation of a committee to look into the issue.
