ISLAMABAD – World Bank President David Malpass arrives in Islamabad onThursday on a two-day visit to Pakistan.
He will hold talks with the Pakistani leadership and discuss means tostrengthen economy of the country.
The visit carries special significance in the backdrop of Pakistan’s recentinclusion among top-20 global reformers on Ease of Doing Business Index.
Pakistan jumped up 28 places on the World Bank’s Ease of Doing BusinessIndex and secured a place among the top 10 countries with the most improvedbusiness climate.
Talking to media persons in Islamabad today, Advisor on Finance HafeezSheikh said Pakistan has been in contact with the World Bank President, whohas appreciated the ongoing reforms programme in the country.
He said the World Bank President wants to further strengthen relationshipbetween Pakistan and the Bank.
