Pakistani ambassador Maleeha Lodhi blasts India at UN in her last speech

NEW YORK – Outgoing Pakistani Permanent Representative to UN Maleeha Lodhion Wednesday said that the women in Indian Occupied Kashmir (ioK) weresuffering immense mental and physical torture at the hands of tyrannicalIndia.

She stated during a debate held on the topic on Women rights and peace,prosperity in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) where Pakistan wasrepresented by the Maleeha Lodhi.

The Pakistani ambassador talked about how the atrocities being inflicted onpoor, helpless, defenseless Kashmiris were impacting day to day lives ofthe people, specifying women. She said that the women in Kashmir weresuffering immense mental and physical torture at the hands of tyrannicalIndia.

Maleeha Lodhi also maintained that the curfew imposed on illegally in IoKby India has been a hard pill to swallow for Kashmiri’s but they refuse tobend the knee and give in, becoming more cognizant of what was around themand what their rights are.

Lodhi claimed that the troops on ground deployed by India to keepKashmiri’s at bay were committing rapes and other nefarious crimes in thedisputed land to cultivate an atmosphere of constant fear.

This was Maleeha Lodhi’s last appearance at the UN forum and wouldhenceforth be replaced, the entire hall clapped in the favor of Lodhi as ashow of respect and admiration on her last address to the council.

The Pakistani envoy said that she took pride in being the only woman tohave represented Pakistan in its 70-year history at the United Nations (UN)as ambassador.
