PESHAWAR – Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtukhwa Mahmood Khan said thatconsultant has been hired and mobilized to conduct survey for Peshawar toD.I.Khan Expressway which is expected to be completed by January 2020.
The project will help in linking southern belt of the province with majorcommunication routes, promote tourism and trade and will also help inpromoting industrialization in the province.
Chief Minister has stated that Daraband Economic Zone in D.I.Khan will helpin the development of the southern districts along with providing localresidents with livelihood opportunities.
He was chairing the 2nd review meeting of the priority projects includingRashakai Economic Zone, Swat Economic Zone, Daraband Economic Zone, MohmandMarble Economic Zone, Buner Marble City and progress on Insaf Rozgar Schemeat Chief Minister Secretariat here.
Chief Minister stated that industrialization in the province is theparamount importance in order to eradicate unemployment, provide livelihoodopportunities and established economic self sustainability of the province.
While briefing the Chief Minister regarding progress on Insaf Rozgar schemein the newly merged Tribal Districts, the meeting was informed that 7257forms have been received till 30th September of the ongoing year andfinancial loans worth Rs.129.68 million have already been disbursed.
Chief Minister directed to speed up the revision and approval process sothat maximum number of youth from the tribal districts may be provided withloans for initiation of businesses.
Chief Minister was informed that the development agreement for RashakaiEconomic Zone will be completed in the next 10 days whereas theadvertisement for tender process has already been completed and evaluationof pre-qualification is in process.

The Chief Minister directed to finalize the modalities for supply ofelectricity and gas to Rashakai Economic Zone on priority basis furtherdirecting the concerned departments to work on extending the wheeling ofprovincially generated electricity to industrial units.
The initiative will have two folded benefits in which cheap electricitywill be provided to industries which will help in reducing the productioncost thereby attracting investors. The wheeling regime will also help inincreasing provincial revenue.
With regards to Swat Economic Zone, the Chief Minister directed to ensurethe timely transfer of land to Economic Zones Development & ManagementCompany (EZDMC) adding that the present government is committed toinaugurate one development project in the Economic Zone sector every fourmonths.
The Chief Minister also directed to expedite work on establishment ofMohmand Marble Industrial Zone and Buner Marble City stating thatcompletion of the projects will not only channelize the marble industry ofthe province but will also help in reduction of environmental pollutiontremendously.
Minister for Finance Taimur Saleem Jhagra, Principal Secretary to CM ShahabAli Shah, Secretary Industries, MD Khyber Bank, Chief Executive EZDMC andother high ranking officials attended the meeting.
