PESHAWAR -Peshawar High Court gives important verdict over JUI – F ChiefFazalur Rehman Azadi March.
Peshawar High Court (PHC) issued directives to the local government onTuesday asking them to ensure no roads or highways are forcibly shut downfor “Azadi March”.
The PHC instructed the officials concerned to keep all roads open till thecity of Attock and stop those trying to install containers to hindertraffic flow.
The court also remarked that it is the media’s responsibility to give both,the government and the opposition equal amount of TV time to highlighttheir grievances.
The orders further asked the participants of the march to exerciserestraint and make sure that the protest remains peaceful.
The court expressed dismay over absence of representation from the attorneygeneral’s office to attend court proceedings on the matter.
On October 27, the “Azadi March” kicked off from Karachi under theleadership of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman. The march passed throughHyderabad, Sukkur and other cities of interior Sindh before entering Punjab.
The “Azadi March” reached Multan on Tuesday where JUI-F chief will addressthe participants.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan Peoples Party havecompleted arrangements to welcome the “Azadi March” participants.
