ISLAMABAD – OIC officials and a top Saudi diplomat has voiced strongsupport for Kashmiri people in their struggle for their UN-pledged right toself-determination.
The support was expressed at a special event held in New York to mark 72ndanniversary of India’s massive invasion and occupation of Kashmir, known asBlack Day.
The event was organized by Pakistan’s outgoing ambassador to United NationsMaleeha Lodhi.
In her concluding remarks, Ambassador Lodhi said while 27 October was aBlack Day, each day of occupation is equally dark for the people of IndianOccupied Kashmir.
Lodhi said India could not continue its draconian tactics in Kashmirindefinitely, as harsher restrictions would be met with equally strongresistance by the people.
She thanked the Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan for his strong statementon Kashmir at the UN and also urged other leaders from the Muslim world tospeak out for the rights of the Kashmiri people.
An impressive photo exhibition was also organized depicting the barbarityof human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and highlightingthe Kashmiri people’s struggle for their inalienable rights.
